My Story

My name is Jake Isley.

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, I attended college at Clemson University, where I graduated with degrees in Marketing and Management with an Entrepreneurship Emphasis. Most of my early career was made up of a variety of summer jobs and internships, where my focus was to learn as much as I possibly could while exploring numerous different roles and industries. In these various roles, I found myself delivering lumber, waiting tables, pursuing sales leads, cleaning bleachers, and even helping kids select their first baseball glove. These roles are where I learned how to grind and put in the hours necessary to constitute a job well done. Along the way, I also picked up a strong belief in the importance of customer service, and taking ownership of the quality of that service.

After graduation, I took a “safe” job at a call center for a large financial services company. This was largely due to my desire to get some hands-on experience in an industry that had long been foreign to me at the time. After passing my licensing exams, and spending over a year assisting clients, I decided to move on. Pushed both by a passion to provide client service that is up to my standards, as well as a desire to pursue a long-term career in creative marketing, I knew that I had to follow my heart.

Today, I am seeking opportunities to pursue a career in creative marketing in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.  Specifically, I am hoping to get in on the ground floor with a marketing agency or consumer goods company in a somewhat creative capacity.  My ideal role would include responsibilities such as concept generation, copy or content production, and working with Adobe creative platforms like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.  That being said, I am very well aware of the competitiveness of this industry, as well as the general craziness of the world we live in right now.  I would be extremely grateful for any opportunity in the marketing realm, provided it has the potential to set me up for a path in line with my goals.
